What is Visual Reading?

Visual Reading is a program that is designed to increase your reading speed dramatically, while also improving comprehension.

Speed is developed by using the Structured Saccade Overlays©, while comprehension is improved through metacognitive reading strategies (such as previewing and reviewing).

This usually takes around 5 weeks with 10 minutes reading per day while using our Structured Saccade Overlays©

Visual Reading is highly effective for all readers who wish to improve their reading speed and comprehension. The median reading speed for non-dyslexic readers after Visual Reading is currently 600wpm

While the benefits of Visual Reading with Structured Saccade Overlays can be achieved independently, we can only guarantee results if you also opt for coaching.

Coaching is done remotely, through software such as Zoom, WhatsApp or similar and both students and coaches manage their sessions and progress through the program from within this website.

In person coaching can be arrange but this adds additional cost to the program due to travel time etc.

All dyslexic readers who have completed Visual Reading with a coach are in the top 14% of postgraduates for reading speed, while 88% are in the top 1%. At the same time, their reading comprehension has also improved dramatically.

Structured Saccade Overlays

Our Structured Saccade Overlays© transform poor readers into excellent readers. They serve two functions:

1. They enable the reader to gain control over their eye movements when reading. This reduces the working memory load, and is a pre-requisite to visually absorb the meaning of multiple words at once.

2. As the reader moves up the overlays, their field of visual attention is widened until the reader can absorb the meaning of 5 or 6 words at once. This allows the reader to read each line of a standard size paperback in one saccade (2 fixations). Speeds over 400 words per minute become commonplace.

Originally Visual Reading focused on using physical saccade overlays for books and printed media, however we have now developed saccade overlay software which can be installed on Windows, macOS and Linux computers which can be used with MS Word, Browsers and PDFs, etc...

Both our physical and software saccade overlays are included in the price of our coach led courses, but should you wish, they can also be purchased without a course. What Results Do Our Students Achieve?

Getting student feedback is an important part of our process.

We ask all students to give us their feedback on their experience of Visual Reading both during and at the end of their course and we are proud to say that we have never had a negative comment.

As well as the improvement in reading speed and comprehension, student feedback evidences dramatic improvement in the students’ confidence and self esteem when it comes to learning and their studies as well as the options they feel are available to them for the future.

Throughout the courses, we work with students to document their initial reading speed and comprehension levels. This data serves as a baseline for tracking their progress. At the conclusion of the Visual Reading Online program, we conduct a comprehensive analysis, comparing their initial assessments to the improvements achieved during the course.
